Weekend Update

So, Friday I head back from Don Russ/Score regarding the Buffy game. They told me they didn't want the demo, as they no longer have the Buffy licensing. They said they'd be happy to consider any ideas for "properties that I have acquired licensing rights." If I could afford to purchase licensing rights, I would produce the game myself. Anyway, not sure what the next step is. Fox's property rights are notoriously exorbitant. Maybe Cardinal Games (they do lots of TV-based trivia games).
While I'll admit to a large serving of skepticism, theoretically, checks are being written on Monday for the job I currently haven't been paid for. I'm not holding my breath. Of course, a check would be very nice.
I'm trying to also get Catharyn to send me to the Serious Games Conference in DC. It's the week after I'm going to be in Nashville.
My nephew is doing well, and at his first check-up, had gained weight, and was doing fine. Thanks again for all of your good wishes. I'm hoping to get to see him soon, but, I suspect it'll be November before I can even think about it.
My mom had an infection that required 2 IV antibiotic treatments this week, she's better now, but, she couldn't get started on her new job like she needed to. Little did I know it, but, her new job requires her to work from home, so I'm wrestling with my computer network to accomodate her needs. I'm running into some annoying challenges.

Date: 2006-08-28 02:35 pm (UTC)If you need help with the networking, I can see if Matt K might be able to help out. I'm no longer up-to-speed on such things, but he has to be since it's his job. I wrangled him into setting up my wireless router the other night! It's like having your own personal IT department! Seriously, though, unless he's really busy I know he'd be happy to help out.

Date: 2006-08-28 03:03 pm (UTC)Basically, I can't get my mom's computer on my network. We installed a wireless network adapter into her desktop, and it says the signal's not strong enough to make an internet connection. I've moved it closer, I've tried adding a repeater, no dice.
