So, Slayerfest went really well this weekend, possibly among the best so far.  During the course of the weekend, a total of 37 episodes were viewed (this was a record number, we touched 7 of the 12 seasons), the Chosen extra features were viewed, and for the first time in Slayerfest history, there were no Friday night dinner leftovers. (Well, a few shrimp, and some mushrooms, but, nothing substantial, and 1 skewer of Indonesian chicken.) Many, many thanks to [profile] bryree for his help with the cooking on Friday.

Bingo seemed to be a pretty good idea, but, probably needs a bit of tweeking.

More than one person did the level 3 trivia questions this year, which was a nice change. I'm still patiently waiting for a time when *someone* does more than look at the Impossible level with fear and cold sweats. Well, someone besides Perlick, who still opted for the more reasonable level 4 questions.

[profile] thedragonweaver and [profile] badjeebus hopped the train back home this morning. Yesterday, it was just us, which was fine, and we had a dandy time, but, made me again ponder whether Monday is a good idea or just *too* much. The fly in this ointment is that for 2 of the four years, it's been one of the better attended nights.  I have *so* many leftover snacks.

More, but, behind the cut, naturally.

I'm beginning to suspect we might be stretching a bit with the "Main Event" episodes. This year we watched half of the 10, and then, on Sunday, those in attendance were more interested in continuing the highlights arc, which was, probably a good idea. Any opinions on this?

Thanks again to [profile] kessiebabe for the German DVDs, since they were actually a fun change of pace.  We used them for a decent chunk of the weekend, by popular vote, with English subtitles. I actually may use them in general for abbreviated arc runs because they have the "previouslies." That's very helpful for people who are coming and going, or who are new to the show.

I'm feeling very tempted to compile/compose some sort of Buffy resource that is comprehensive but readable. I find that many resources don't have what I want, and the really "over-the-top" resources crammed with minutia are way too much, but, also difficult to read in a meaningful way.  I've no idea what shape that resource will take, I just know that I'm tired of having to go to 12 different web sites which have varying qualities of information, and often don't have exactly what I need. I mean, my own Buffyverse files, while extensive, are sorta a mishmash of stuff, and inconvenient. Getting information, instead of data, from them is a tricky proposition. Of course, it's also entirely possible that I'm the only one who would want such a thing, so I'm not sure it's worth the effort.

I also have the formal trivia game, which I typed up rules for, so the rules need playtesting. Honestly, it also still needs a ton of balance testing. I also have this sneaking suspicision that I need to create a non-licensed entity version of the trivia game to sell first (ala a TV trivia game, with the same mechanics, but, different, um, artwork and terms) to raise the money for purchasing rights for the Buffy/Angel games.
