Various thoughts I had this weekend

I'm pretending to be at lunch.  Lots of stuff floating in my head, and some of it's worth sharing, and possibly just typing things out will help. Hope you all don't mind too much.

1. Be able to leave ACC in the next year.
2. Be debt free (house excluded) in the next year.
3. Write everyday. (still sorta failing on that, as you can see, but jumping in again.)

To the second goal, I've got a few thoughts on it, but would welcome insight. My house has appreciated in value about 30K since I bought it. In addition, I pay above my mortgage payment directly to principle every month, so, I've got some equity. (Woot!) I've got a couple things I can do with that. The unit next door is vacant. I'm considering talking with the owner about buying it, and possibly using it as a rental/investment property. (my sister might even be my tenant, thus, um, solving my roommate situation). This is assuming he's willing to give me a price that's remotely reasonable (which might be a long shot, considering his previous asking price for the place). I can use the equity from my current house as a down payment, and have the whole place as mine. Eventually, I'd probably merge the two units into one place.

Alternatively, I could simply re-finance my place, (and in the likelihood the other owner wants more than is reasonable) take out the equity, and use it to pay off all my outstanding debt (that's *all* of it, including my student loans, car, misc.), and have enough left over to do the sorely needed landscaping around my house.

As to goal the third, I'm still contemplating whether this "potpourri" of styles (granted, yes, I've not gotten a full week's worth in as yet) is worth still exploring, or whether there's something I should focus on (i.e. Is there something that works better than another?). Thoughts?

I'm also floundering slightly as to creating my own web site, being uncertain whether the "potpourri" style will be cohesive enough as a site. I keep trying to think about the basic principles of web deisgn, which say to design a site for a specific purpose, and for a specific audience. I'm honestly not sure if my audience should be readers exclusively, or publishers. Anyway, mostly, I'm feeling a tad worn out of late, and somewhat uninspired.

Anyway, I've prattled enough for now. I can go home soon.

If the other guy is willing to sell at a reasonable price, I'd say go for it.
As for the ACC stuff, try craigslist. That's how I got my current job (which I'm liking quite well.) And keep trying it, because most people don't write back... but you only need one good one to reply.
