Okay, since no plan actually gelled from my first post, I'm going to summarize the cogent bits here:

[livejournal.com profile] bryree   will be here Oct 2-4. Any of those 3 nights will work. [livejournal.com profile] derbiser  's b-day being Oct. 4, she'd prefer a night other than Oct. 4.

[livejournal.com profile] toosuto   and family will be here Oct. 8-9. Rona will probably not be happy with movie.

Anyone else have an opinion, scheduling suggestion or preference?

I'm more nervous about this film's opening than I've been about a film *ever.* I can't believe I'm so worried about it. I want it to do well, not so much for sequels, even, just because I *believe* in this movie so strongly, and want people to see it, and appreciate it. Sequels would be gravy, as far as I'm concerned.

I'd lean towards the 3rd -- we'd rather avoid opening weekend, and the 4th is also a Star Wars Tuesday.

Right! I'd forgotten it was a Tuesday. And Star Wars. Weird. I was just thinking of the 4th as my last day of work for the week.

Also we will have seen it as we are going this Sunday.

All good. Have I mentioned how nervous I am about this movie doing well? Yeah. Breathing. Good. Joss even gave a St. Crispin's Day speech to rally the Browncoats.

If enough non-Browncoats go to see this movie this weekend, well, it'll take off. The movie will sell itself.

Saw it last night.... not all the cheering was from the geekly in the audience - there was certainly some from the people who were just there for a free movie.

It was shiny.

That makes me *so* happy. Looking at the flurry of media reports from today, we might *just* be in business. This movie just might get legs. I hope so. Instapundit liked it. Ain't it Cool News' reviewer's eating crow. And me, I'm scouring for definitive signs that this movie will be a hit. I need a life.
