I need some advice.  I am not a capable enough graphic designer to come up with lots of new pretty images, and I really don't have the time or patience to mess with it. So, I've been hunting for a free Word Press theme for the site's transition from blogger.  I need your help.  I'd love feedback on the themes I liked for one reason or another, but, none of them screamed "I'm the one you want."

Listed in no particular order:

Seasons (which I like that it has built-in rotation for different seasons):

Coffee Desk:

Webb Design: (I might tweak the background blue a bit, and I would take out that band of rainbow color at the top, because I don't like it much. http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/webbdesign

Travelogue:

Desk Mess Mirrored:

Flashy:

What I like, in general, is clean non-cluttered designs, with discrete blocks of content, and built-in white space. I want to look at and not feel like my eyeballs are peeling off. I want something more than straight-up minimalist, I don't just want black and white. Anyway. Your feedback is very much appreciated. Vote early and often. Or something.

I'm just going to say ditto to [livejournal.com profile] returntoshore, because that's my take, too.

I will third these opinions and state that I am fond of Tarski

Thank you.

I took a look at Tarski, and it's a tad too minimalist for my tastes. I don't like that there's not a whole lot of space or definition between the left nav and the body text, the copy almost bumps into each other, making it feel a tad cluttered. I think it's harder to read. It could also be a hangover from my days of newspaper layout.

I forgot to add, I think that particular theme does really work for your site, however. Your site is more like a gallery, and you need it to make the pictures standout, which they do. Also, the picture keeps the copy in the nav and the post from bumping. I am not really a photographer, and the WoD site is going to be more word heavy with few, if any pictures.

I like the notebook aspect of Webbdesign over the torn edges of Flashy if you go that way, but I like Seasons. It's clean and doesn't push content into a narrower column for the sake of side borders-of-no-purpose.
